Our client is a successful physiotherapist whose specialty is assisting new mothers and mothers in training with back pains. Pregnancy and post natal picking up of a child can cause severe back pain.

Challenge
The aim was to prevent low back injuries to carers by designing a cost effective solution for a product that lends itself to the new parent market. The design needed to meet rigorous standards.
The integration of smart design and functionality was toyed with. The electronics involved had to be concealed and the frame had to be light and portable.

Solution

Inventor's product manufacturing team redesigned the Juca Cot’s construction in order to produce a prototype. Computer Aided Design (CAD) files were composed with 3D drawings for the final prototype. The lifting device has been built to comply with Australian standards, rigorously tested at Inventor prior to being sent off to the Certifier.

Benefit

The JUCA cot lift will move the baby to a higher and therefore safer position to enable the carer to lift the baby out of the cot safely. Though still in production, we are all exuberant about the Juca Cotz. While on pre-release, the cot has already placed in the top 20 for the Smartest 100 new designs in Anthill Magazine.​
